Constraints Experienced
These are the legal issues Involved in creating my final project. Copyrighted music, location permission and consent of actors. I made sure I had these covered by choosing copyright free music and getting permission to film both my actors and at the location. This will reduces the risk of legal issues arising.
Our college brought in a ban on using weapons in films during this unit which prevented any filming after a certain date to include weapons. This did not affect my work as I filmed before this date, However this may effect my resubmission if I need to film anything.
During filming the only money spent was on transport to the locations and all props and rooms were borrowed. All actors/actresses performed unpaid

Management
I worked to the timescale I set myself for this unit. I gave myself an earlier deadline of a week to make sure that I had the majority of the workload completed before the final week. This was so I could spend the remaining days making sure all my work was to a high standard.
I took control of my project and worked independently except for the use of actors. The actors did what was asked of them which showed my leadership skills.
My production required few meetings with my actors as they all understood what they had to do and what they had to bring with them when filming. This made the filming run smoothly.
The outcomes I gave myself were outlined in my brief which were achieved to the best of my ability. As I gave myself an earlier deadline I was able to complete the project with time left to adjust any problems that arose.
If I were to recreate my final product I would make the video longer and include more detail, I may also include more characters.

Finished Product
The content and style of the video follows the conventions of the crime drama genre and uses suspense to attract the audience.
The narrative of the video is a suspense filled show about the character development of a detective and his unlikely partner, who together solve crimes.
My Characters were all thought out and planned well, their bios are below:
John Fletcher is a 23 year old private detective who graduated from Cambridge at the age of 19. Bordering on the sociopathic nature Fletcher has a bad reputation with the police for sticking his nose in crimes he shouldn't be involved with. He lives alone due to his tendencies to investigate in to the lives of people he knows.
Paul Calloway is a 25 year old Police Patrol Officer, formerly a Detective Inspector but was demoted due to bringing in unauthorized help in several previous cases. Paul has no living relatives and currently lives with his girlfriend Kayla. Paul has been reprimanded several times for going above the call of duty, he longs to be back as a Detective Inspector and it is this attitude that has gotten him in trouble more than once. Not much is known about his relationship with Fletcher, but he seems to be the only person Fletcher can trust, making them a very powerful team.
Louisa Banter aged 13, a popular student among all class mates, was found shot dead in a classroom at her school. A single red die left next to her body with the number 5 facing upwards.
Woman in red - The identity of this character is a mystery until the last episode. In the first episode she has no lines however she is prominent at the end.
The final video used a lot of codes and conventions of the crime drama genre, to bring across the required atmosphere stated in the brief. The camera work was mainly static except for a few tilts/pans and tracking shots. These were used to help the viewer follow the story line, and they broke up the static shots. The video was edited using many editing techniques, such as cutting on action, onscreen text diegetic/non-diegetic audio. These were used to keep the audiences attention.
Aesthetic qualities
The visual appearance and quality of work is important in creating a video, as the audience relies on this to bring across the whole story. In my crime drama I have done this through using close ups and strong lighting.
Creative qualities
The video is a generic crime drama with a creative twist as it is a serial narrative. This s brought across by the use of subtle links such as dice, characters, props, and settings.

Feedback
My peers, client and test audience watched my video and commented on the work, their responses are below:
Niche in the market
Story develops way too quick for an 8 min episode
Good use of humor
Characters worked well together
Introduce more characters
From this feedback if I were to recreate the final product I would make the storyline longer and include more detail, including more variety of shots. I will consider introducing more characters in to the plot to thicken out the storyline. This could also make the crime drama more relatable by the viewers as they may connect with one or more characters.
